What is work-life balance? This is a question that many people ask every day, and the truth is that it has an answer that varies from person to person. While making money and being employed is important, your family should be your priority. Long hours at the office and bringing work home with you can have a negative impact on your family life. Missing football games, ballet shows and any other activity that your child is involved in may not seem like a huge deal to you, but for them it really does make a difference having you there.
You may also lose the connection with your partner/spouse if you don’t spend enough time with them or at least take some time out for a romantic evening every now and then. Work-life balance is essential to ensure your family’s happiness.

Although it seems counterintuitive, overworking yourself and taking work home in the evenings and the weekends will most likely have a negative effect on your work performance. A fresh mind and eyes and excitement for the work you do is important to get the best performance out of employees at work – and this isn’t going to work if you are slaving away day in and day out and neglecting your personal life.
